There is a lot of money to be made as a seller on eBay. Thousands and thousands of sales are made each day, resulting in a lot of income for a lot of sellers. And there is still room for you if you want to get involved – whether you want to earn some part time cash or set up a whole new full time business on the side.

But where do you get your stock from? How do you get started? And how can you build a business that gives you PowerSeller status? Relax – you’re about to find out.

It’s easy work to get started earning money on eBay. Once you’ve signed up for your free account the best way to get a feel for what selling is like is to auction off some of your personal items that you no longer want. If you are going to start buying stock to resell, you’ll do better by getting some basic selling experience first.

While we are on the subject of stock, you’ll need to decide what kind of business you are going to set up. Of course you can sell anything you like, but if you want to make a name for yourself it helps to become known for selling a specific type of product.

Now that doesn’t necessarily mean your product area needs to be a small one; on the contrary it could be quite large. You could sell toys for example – there’s plenty there to keep any seller going for months on end without selling the same thing twice. You do need to pick a popular product though, and it’s worth doing some research using eBay’s advanced search feature to find out what is selling and how much it’s selling for.

So let’s say you want to sell computer games, for example. There are hundreds of games you could buy to sell here, but if you don’t know which ones will sell you could lose a lot of money buying the wrong stock. By searching the ended listings you can see which titles consistently sell well, and which ones will produce the best profit for you.

Okay – so you know how to figure out what to buy. Now you need to know where to get it from. It stands to reason that no seller is going to tell you where they get their stock; that would be like giving away the keys to their business. In order to find the best sources for stock you need to do a bit of legwork.

We should mention here that there are two main sources for stock – wholesalers and dropshippers. Both have their pros and cons; it just depends on which method you personally prefer.

Dropshippers hold all the stock for you, so you only actually pay for an item once you’ve received payment from the customer. You may have to pay a fee to join the scheme in the first place though. If you choose to go with one or more wholesalers you will need to have the room to buy the stock, and the money to buy it in advance. This comes with more risk since you could buy stock that doesn’t sell, but with the tactic we’ve already covered for checking completed listings before you order anything, the risk here should be kept to a minimum.

So – back to where to find these sources. If you have a particular product in mind that you want to sell, the simple act of looking at the packaging can often reveal the name of the supplier. You can then check out their website to see what else they do.

Another method is to search for what you want on Google. This sounds deceptively simple and in fact many people don’t think of doing this. It can be a bit hit or miss, but it’s possible to find some excellent wholesalers through this method. Over time you will go from having one wholesaler to a handful of sources to get your stock from, and you can build up your product range as you start to grow.

Building your feedback is an important part of being a good seller and the higher you can get your score the better. It sets you apart as being a dedicated seller. And the faster your score climbs, the closer you get to attaining PowerSeller status.

The PowerSeller symbol is highly prized among serious eBay sellers, and there are five levels to strive for. The first is Bronze, and it’s a lot easier to reach than you might think. While you might set a goal for yourself to reach PowerSeller, you will find that if you build up your product range and gradually increase your sales, you will reach it in no time. And if you get off to a great start you might just do it in three months – the minimum time you can actually do it in.

Many sellers have their own shop on eBay, but it’s not necessary when you first get started. In fact you are often better off waiting until you have a good range of stock before opening a shop, since it can look rather empty if you only have a handful of items.

The final thing to think about is the price of the items you are selling. It stands to reason that if you sell a hundred different products in the $5 to $10 price range, you won’t make as much cash as you would selling a hundred in the $50 to $100 price range.

But you need to work out what you enjoy selling and what you can sell lots of to experience real success on eBay. Don’t go for expensive products just because they might bring a bigger profit. Go for your calling – that’s where you will experience the biggest success.

Above all, remember that it can take time to build a successful business – but if you’re determined to achieve real success on eBay you should be enjoying the journey.

Ten Essential Time Management Tips

Over the past six years, I’ve picked up a lot of time management tips. Some of them have been helpful and, frankly, some have been useless. Here, I’ve compiled the ten that have served me best. And yes, I’m sure you’ll have heard some of them before ... but are you actually doing them?

# Three Important Things
This is the “big rocks first” technique of scheduling your three most important tasks into your day and letting everything else flow around them.

In case you’ve not come across the “rocks” analogy before, it goes like this:

You’re given a jar, three large rocks, a handful of pebbles and some sand. If you pour the sand and pebbles into the jar first, there won’t be room to force the rocks into it – but if you put the rocks in first, the pebbles can flow around the rocks, then the sand can be poured in to fill the gaps.

# Always Carry a Notepad
How often have you been stuck waiting for a train or standing in line at the bank with absolutely nothing to do? Keep a notepad in your pocket or purse and you’ll always be able to do some productive work: whether it’s an outline for your next project, a list of ideas for new products, or a few notes for an article or short story.

If you have a PDA or phone that you can type on, try using that instead of a notepad – you can transfer your notes to your computer.

# Make Checklists
Do you ever find yourself procrastinating on big projects – or spinning your wheels without much idea of what needs to be done next? For almost any project, a checklist is a good way to keep on track. You might keep checklists like:

* Books and articles to read for your next essay
* Steps to take whenever you take on a new client
* Office procedures, such as closing up at night

Checklists are particularly important for tasks which you do on a regular basis: they’ll save you the time of trying to figure out exactly what it is you need to in order to set up a new website or launch a new product. Breaking down a big project into individual tasks is also a great way to avoid procrastination.

# Work in Short Bursts
Many people make the mistake of trying to work for long hours at a stretch. Inevitably, they run out of energy quickly – or end up working inefficiently. It’s much easier to concentrate when you’re working for a short time period, which is why students are normally advised to study for 20-45 minute bursts, taking frequent breaks.

If you’re struggling to concentrate on work, set a timer for twenty minutes, and see how much you can get done in that time. Twenty minutes of concentrated work can be more productive than two hours of fiddling around.

# Do One Thing
Our world is becoming faster and busier than ever. It’s all too common for us to be replying to emails, keeping up with friends on Twitter, and holding a conversation with colleagues – while trying to get that big company report finished. No wonder we end up working late.

Experts now believe that it’s better for us to concentrate on one task at a time, rather than multi-tasking: every time we switch between different tasks, we have to refocus – and we’re also likely to get distracted.

# Pay Yourself First
If you’ve done any reading on financial management, you might have come across the idea of paying yourself first – setting aside money towards your long-term goals each time you get your paycheck. You can apply a similar principle to your time, either on a daily or weekly basis.

“Pay yourself first” by spending an hour before work each morning on your goals – not on household chores. (If the chores really need to be done, you’ll get them done in the evening.)

# Get Enough Sleep
Many of us try to cram more into our day by cutting out sleeping time: but this can be hugely counter-productive. You’ll never be able to focus well when you’re yawning over your keyboard and if you push yourself too hard for too long, you may end up getting ill.

Some people can function well with under eight hours sleep, but most of us need to be getting at least seven hours.

# Track Your Time
Where does all the time go? I’m sure that’s a question most of us have asked ourselves recently. Of course, it’s not hard to find out: simply spend a week keeping track of your time, writing down what you do each hour.

Don’t make the excuses that you “don’t have time” to do this – it’ll only take a few extra minutes during the day (simply make a note of the time you start and end each task) – and it can reveal some uncomfortable truths about where you’re spending the bulk of your time.

# Schedule Time for Emails
When you sit down at your computer in the morning, what’s the first thing you do? For many of us, it’s checking emails. It’s easy to get sucked into replying to just one thing ... only to find that it’s lunch-time and you’ve not really accomplished anything.

If you find yourself checking emails whenever you’re stuck or procrastinating, then set yourself rigid times to read and reply. You could try 11am and 4pm – it’s unlikely that anyone really needs a reply from you at 8am.

# Delegate Whenever Possible
Finally, the best way that I’ve found to free up my time is to delegate. The more tasks you can pass on to other people, the easier it’ll be to cope with your own workload. This might mean training a subordinate to take over some of your tasks at work, it might mean hiring a virtual assistant for your home business, or it could just be getting your spouse or teens to cook dinner once in a while.

There are many different ways to compose music; one of the easiest ways is to hum a tune, trying to hum something original, something that no one has ever heard before. If you play an instrument you can start composing music by playing anything at all and then when you hear something that you like, you go over and over it and use that as the theme for your piece.

Then there’s spontaneous music composition, a very advanced way of composing music, when I say advanced I mean that you have to be very good at what you do to make a spontaneous music composition sound good, anyone can do it just by playing a piece from start to finish that they compose on the fly, much like improvising but it takes a lot of talent to make it into anything more than just random notes.

A cooking analogy can help you remember to add some things to make your song better. Start with boiling water and some hearty stock to nail down the main flavor and add your meat (drums and bass). Next add in all the different main ingredients (rhythm). Finally, add the spices and flavorings, just enough to kick it up a notch, but not enough to drown out the main flavor (leads, pads, effects).

• If you are using a guitar to compose, learn tab chords function in major and minor keys. You can apply your knowledge to any piece of music.
• It is a good idea to learn to play more than two musical instruments, such as piano, guitar, and drums - as well as voice - to help composing. This will help you write treble, bass and percussion notes on music sheet paper.
• Try using some music notation programs: Finale, LilyPond, Sibelius, Magic Score, Rosegarden, GuitarPro, etc. are all good programs. They allow you to create professional-looking copies of your music. Some are even free.
• You need at least three musical instuments and voice such as precussion, bass, rhythm guitar. Five or more instruments is better; Jackson Five songs needs five to six intruments.
• Some musicians also try to just play. It is possible to randomly choose notes while practicing. Over time your ears and hands may lean towards emphasizing how you want the music to sound. To become a good musician, all one truly needs is time and dedication to your instrument(s).
• Above all, have fun with it.
• If you are interested in investing in it, you can buy software that listens through a microphone and detects notes. Then turns it into sheet music, where you can add proper rests, and other musical notations.

• Food intolerances. Some people are unable to digest food components such as artificial sweeteners and lactose—the sugar found in milk.

• Parasites. Parasites can enter the body through food or water and settle in the digestive system. Parasites that cause diarrhea include Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica, and Cryptosporidium.

• Reaction to medicines. Antibiotics, blood pressure medications, cancer drugs, and antacids containing magnesium can all cause diarrhea.

• Intestinal diseases. Inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, Crohn’s disease, and celiac disease often lead to diarrhea.

• Functional bowel disorders. Diarrhea can be a symptom of irritable bowel syndrome.

The advertising earnings

I have spent a long time trying to improve the advertising earnings on my websites and I have managed to go from a couple of dollars a month to 3 figures in a relatively short time, without increasing the amount of visitors to my site.

The tips I am about to tell you are what worked for me, but I encourage you to try different things as each site is unique.
1. Colour and Position

This is probably the optimization which is mentioned most regularly, but it's for good reason. You really should experiment with different ad positions and different colour combinations. Each time you make a change leave the ads for a week and see how your earnings alter. Make a note of what works and then try something new. I was always sceptical when I read these comments before but since I have started playing with positioning my adsense revenue has multiplied by 4 times (crazy but true). Personally I've found that blending ads into the site works very well but it's not the only way and you should try all the combinations you can think of.
2. Different date, different adverts

This is one of my favourites and I intend to write a post on how to do this next week, for now I will stick to the what and why.

In simple terms, the older the page the more ads you show.

Despite the fact that I have advertising, I don't actually like it. I have 0 to very few adverts on new posts, and increase the ads on older ones. This isn't so obvious here on Binary Moon, but on Binary Joy I have gone a little crazy - but there is a method to my madness. The theory is that older posts will be more appealing to search engines, and visitors who come from search engines are more likely to click on ads. Another side effect is that I "reward" regular visitors by not annoying them with adverts, so I feel this is a good compromise. As I said above I'll go into this one in more detail next week (with code).
3. Content Targeting

This one is a very simple change and is ridiculously straight forward to implement. Google have a simple comment tag that you can place around your primary content, and this is what your ads will be targeted to.

The idea is that you place these comments around your core page content. That is, the content which is mostly text, and which best reflects the content of your site. On a blog this will generally be the main post content. The reason you do this is so that the adverts don't target irrelevant content such as the links in your sidebar.

You can also add regions you want Google to ignore. I haven't used these myself but they are something I intend to try in the not too distant future. You can read more on the section targeting page of the Google Adsense help.
4. Referrals

Google Referrals don't make me a huge amount of money, but I like to include them on all my sites. Currently I only use one referral package and it only displays in Internet Explorer on the PC. It's for the Firefox browser, and earns me roughly a dollar for every new install I generate. Some sneaky css removes the ad for Firefox users so that they don't get pestered with unnecessary adverts.

To do the show/ hide css on your refferal code all I do is have a div with my referral button in it, which I hide. I then use conditional css comments to load some css to display the advert in IE.

I've put together a simple example of what I mean below. Just copy and paste the code below into a new htm document and then view it in IE and Firefox. In IE you will see the ad block at the top of the page, in Firefox is "magically" disappears.

5. SEO and Content

I get about 75% of my traffic from search engines and, in my opinion, search engine visitors are the ones most likely to click on adverts, far more so than the regular visitors (which ties into the date based adverts above). Search engine visitors are on a journey to find some information, if they can't find what they want on my site then they might as well find it on one of my advertisers sites, and that's the good thing about contextual advertising - the ads are relevant to my readers.

7 Small business Ideas to grow your daily income

Starting a small business is not an easy step for a person who never knows how to make money on Internet. But there are many ways you can choose and start earning the right and straight way. All you need is the patience and time. Because every successful earner on Internet never earned at beginning. People fed up too quickly when they never see any earning coming out from their websites or business. Here are some quick ideas you can choose and start your small business to grow up your daily income.

Earn though AdSense

Start a website. Choose any topic you are interested most and can write with relax. For example if you can write on fitness, go and start a fitness advice website. Populate your website with useful content daily. Submit it into different search engines and directories to get few link backs. Remember, take care of your visitors and never thought about any money at least during the first month. Then go and sign up for google AdSense and embed AdSense ads in your website. Try harder, promote it and you’ll be getting $$ in your AdSense account.
Now start another website and double your income. Do it again and again. It needs time but it is the simplest method you can try.

Earn with Affiliate Marketing

Getting income from affiliate marketing is another quick way to go. Start promoting other people’s products though any affiliate network like Commission Junction, LinkShare, NeverBlueAds etc. Use generic website and SEO traffic to sell products or use PPC(pay per click) advertisement networks like adwords, YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network) and MSN adcenter. PPC is the quickest way to go.

Website flipping is an old but still successful idea to earn huge profits. Buy some new and old (expired) domains and put related contents on them. Build as many links as you can. Generate some traffic and page rank and then Sell it. You can get a good amount of profit from every website you flipped out.

Blogging is the most successful and easy idea to get income daily. You can blog on anything. Just choose a favorite topic of yours, buy a domain, a hosting account, install wordpress and start blogging. Promote your blog and build as many commentator’s community as you can. I personally started a blog few days ago and i am getting daily 30 to 40 hits from google within just 2 days. All was because of good and quality content. You can then use different advertisement networks or sell advertisement space to different bigger companies or blog owners. You can earn up to $2000 per blog per week easily if you work harder.

Work as a Freelance

Everyone have some kind of special skill. For example, I am an excellent php developer and I know i have done so many things in php that no-body was able to do. I use my php skills to earn a lot of profit from freelance sites like eLance, rentacoder etc. You can also do the same. It does not matter if you don’t know php. If you are good designer, have good English and can write articles, a good system administrator or any skill. You can still use your skills to work as a Freelance.

Develop your own Products

If you are a good brain stormer , think and create some unique product that no-body have done before and hire some developer/designers to build that product. Launch it . Believe me nothing but this idea is one of the best and long tail earning way.

Write E-Books and promote them

There are people who earned thousands every week by selling their ebooks. E-book is a very successful business these days. You can write on any topic, like Internet Marketing, health & fitness, beauty etc. Write the ebook yourself or get some ghost content writer to do so. Writing an e-book is not harder. I have written my first e-book in just 4 days on (Wordpress).
